American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager.
