AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. She ended 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
